TERRORISM, A THREAT TO THE AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE

During the 1990’s attacks, such as the one on the USS Cole, the bombing of the Trade Towers, and attacks on U. S. Embassies were treated as random acts of lawlessness and not as terrorist activities. Only with the bombing of the Trade Towers in 2001, and the related activities on the Pentagon, did President Bush proclaim these as terrorist attacks and attacks on the American way of Life.

Administrations can choose to take the easy way out or face the reality of a situation and deal with it. The easy way out is to treat these acts as random acts of lawlessness, make a strong statement that America will pursue these law breakers until they are found out, tried and pay their debt to society, and then forget all about it. The more difficult choice, as we have seen with President Bush’s decision is to face terrorism for what it is and deal with it. The only way to deal with those threatening the American way of life is to deal with it head on. Confront those who wish us harm and do everything in our power to preserve every American’s life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. That is what the President is supposed to do, uphold the Constitution of the United States.

When Islamic Fascists declare, “Kill the infidels,” what is it that so many Americans do not understand. Some say, “Be nice to them and they will be nice to us.”

“Kill the infidels,” has nothing to do with being nice. It has everything to do with converting to Islam or dying. How hard is that to understand. One converts to Islam to avoid being an infidel. If that option is not chosen, the alternative is death. The goal of Islam is to convert the world to 100% Islam.

America is a country whose constitution demands religious freedom. As a result America will allow the threat of Islamic rule one day in this great country. However, as Americans we must use good judgment in electing our country’s leaders to assure our Country is led in the proper direction. Conservative values can limit the speed at which non-friendly entities become a moving force; liberal values speed up the process. The ACLU is a prime example how liberal values have deteriorated the fiber that holds our great nation together.

Australia has made it known to those who immigrate to their country--follow the rules of our nation or don’t settle here. Pretty simple and direct. As our nations faces an important election, citizens must choose what kind of country we want to be. That kind of country is reflected in our candidates—candidates not only for president, but senators and house positions, as well. Choose wisely this fall.
